Exhibits - The Discovery Place

Permanent Exhibt
Third Floor

Kids learn about local history while they play in Discovery Place.

Four stations depict the lives of children who grew up in Western Pennsylvania in the 1800s through the 1940s. Kids can "go to work" as an apprentice in a beauty salon or steel mill, or pick up a heavy iron to learn about life as an indentured servant.

Hand's-on games teach kids about transportation via railroad or steamboat travel, and other interactive activities invite children to learn about crafts and other unique products made right here in Western Pennsylvania.

EXTRA:
For more fun and interactive games, families will want to visit Kidsburgh on the History Center's first floor and the Western Pennsylvania Sports Museum on the second floor.
